You may have experience from municipal building permit processing, or equally from the construction, consulting, or real estate industries where you have worked closely with building permits, design, or the implementation of construction projects.

At our Building Permit Unit: Shaping (Bygglovsenheten Gestaltning), you will have a key role in creating safe, well-thought-out, and functional environments for our residents. As a Building Permit Officer, you are an important part of the urban development process – you review building permit applications, guide applicants, and ensure that laws, regulations, and plans are followed.

Your Responsibilities

As a Building Permit Officer, you work with the entire chain in the construction process:

• Process applications for building permits, demolition permits, pre-decisions, and reportable measures.
• Review drawings and documents according to the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and other relevant regulations.
• Present cases before the Building Board and make decisions under delegation.
• Provide advice, information, and service to private individuals, companies, and other authorities.
• Participate in detailed planning processes and coastal protection issues.
• Perform and process supervision.
• Contribute to developing our work processes and strengthening digital development.

The work is varied and involves both independent responsibility and close collaboration with colleagues within and outside the unit.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant education as a Building Permit Officer, architect, or lawyer from a university or college – or other education or experience within urban development that we assess as equivalent.
• Knowledge of the Planning and Building Act or experience working with building permit-related issues.
• Category B driver's license – you need to be able to conduct site visits within the municipality.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you also have:

• Experience with building permit processes, either from municipal operations or through work in the construction, consulting, or real estate industries.
• Knowledge of building technology.
• Experience working in detailed planning processes.
• Processing of coastal protection dispensations or supervision.
