Do you enjoy meeting people, thrive in water, and want a job where you make a real difference every day? As a lifeguard, you help create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our visitors. Here you combine service, responsibility, and activity in a role where no two days are alike.

Your Responsibilities

As a lifeguard with us, you work at Halmstad Arena pool, and your main tasks are to provide service, create a welcoming atmosphere, and ensure a safe experience in and around our swimming pools.

This means you monitor safety in and around the pool area by, among other things, informing about pool rules and maintaining order. The role also includes assisting those in distress and, if necessary, performing life-saving measures until the rescue services arrive. The position also involves planning and conducting swimming lessons for various target groups.

Light cleaning and maintenance of facilities and toilets are included in the work.

Working hours are scheduled during day and evening shifts, as well as every other weekend.

To be considered for employment as a lifeguard, you must complete a swimming and diving test, regardless of previous experience. The test is conducted at the beginning of the selection process. If you pass the test, you will proceed to an interview.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who have completed upper secondary education. You must be able to swim backstroke and breaststroke, perform towing techniques, and dive to a depth of 3.80 meters in a deep pool. Good knowledge of the Swedish language and basic knowledge of English are also requirements for the position. If you have knowledge of additional languages, we view this as a merit.

It is desirable if you have work experience within service, security, or healthcare. We also appreciate if you have training in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), or training according to the Swedish Life Saving Society's pool lifeguard standards, or are a certified swimming instructor. A B-class driver's license is desirable as you may need to travel to different pools during the summer months.

To succeed in the role of a lifeguard, it is important that you enjoy working with others and contribute to good teamwork. You are service-oriented and greet our guests in a professional, safe, and friendly manner.

The work requires that you are flexible, stress-resistant, and able to plan and work structurally, even in situations where quick decisions need to be made.
