We are looking for two teaching assistants in criminology at the Department of Behavioural, Social and Legal Sciences. As a teaching assistant, you will be an important part of our continued journey with the societal mission of research and education in focus.

Background

The Department of Behavioural, Social and Legal Sciences (BSR) offers standalone courses and educational programs at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels in criminology, psychology, law, and social work. BSR also conducts outstanding research. Within the field of criminology, there are three active research environments.

Responsibilities

The role of a teaching assistant in criminology includes administrative tasks related to teaching, some teaching duties, and general administrative tasks to support the teaching staff and the unit management in criminology.

Qualifications

To be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to undergraduate or advanced level studies. Additionally, you must have completed studies amounting to at least 180 higher education credits.

We are looking for someone who has shown an interest in educational and student issues during your studies. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities, such as the ability to work independently, being meticulous and structured, having good communication skills in both speech and writing, strong collaboration skills, a service-oriented attitude, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Work experience from within academia is meritorious.

Information

The position is 30% for 5 months with an expected start date of 2025-08-17. Salary is paid in accordance with the local collective agreement.

Teaching assistants may be employed for one year at a time, and the total employment period for a teaching assistant may not exceed three years.
