About Vikingaskolan

Vikingaskolan is a grades F-6 school located in the Bomhus district and belongs to the Lillhagen principal area. In the Lillhagen principal area, we work based on our prioritized goals: knowledge, values, and student health.

We are a three-stream school with approximately 480 students. We strive to be a school with a strong learning culture where collegial learning, through joint planning and assessment, is in focus.

The school is characterized by good academic results and a social environment that all staff and students appreciate, cherish, and help maintain and strengthen.

About the position

We are now looking for an enthusiastic after-school care teacher (fritidshem) for Vikingaskolan, starting in the autumn term of 2026, specifically on October 1st. Do you want to be part of our team? We warmly welcome your application!

Responsibilities

Would you like a meaningful job with dedicated and supportive colleagues? Are you driven by the desire to inspire, lead, and motivate students with good prospects? Great, then we might have the job for you. Come and make Gävle better together with us!

You will be responsible for planning and teaching in the after-school care program. The work also includes implementing and evaluating the activity according to decided goals and guidelines. Together with your colleagues, you will contribute to creating a school where everyone feels safe and seen as students, guardians, and staff. The work is performed in collaboration with other educators, student health services, and guardians.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Teacher certification with eligibility to teach in after-school care (fritidshem)
• Familiarity with and knowledge of the curriculum for primary school, as well as for preschool class and after-school care
• The ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Knowledge of and experience with working with digital tools

Previous experience working with children in need of special support is considered an asset.

• Clear leadership: You demonstrate clear and secure leadership, naturally motivating students and creating an environment where they thrive and feel good. You are clear in your communication and adapt your approach based on the situation and target group

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-10-01.
