RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to contribute to the learning of adults? Here, you will become part of a dedicated workplace characterized by joy in work and pride. The unit was awarded "Workplace of the Year" in Gävle Municipality 2025.

As a teacher within the unit for basic and upper secondary courses and subject levels, you work to create good conditions for each student's learning and development.

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher at the upper secondary level in mathematics and physics. You will primarily teach at the upper secondary level within regular adult education (Komvux).

Teaching takes place in classrooms both during the day and in the evenings, as well as via distance learning. The teaching may cover courses of 10 or 20 weeks. This is a vacation position. Since adult education has continuous admission, teaching takes place year-round, and the unit has five course start periods.

As a teacher in adult education, you work with upper secondary level teaching. The teaching is carried out according to decided goals and guidelines and aims to give adult students the best possible conditions to achieve good study results. You actively contribute to the unit's goals by challenging and supporting adult students in their knowledge development.

You collaborate with other teachers within the unit for basic and upper secondary courses, as well as other staff at the adult education center. Together, we design good, enjoyable, and varied teaching with the best interests of adult students in focus.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Plan, implement, follow up, and develop teaching for adult students at the upper secondary level
• Adapt teaching and learning environments based on the individual conditions of adult students
• Document, follow up, and analyze results
• Contribute to an inclusive, secure, and participatory learning environment
• Collaborate with colleagues and be an active part of the dedicated teachers at the unit
• Work structured and efficiently with all occurring tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who want to contribute your competence within adult education and who thrive in a relationship-building and developmental teaching role.

Formal Competencies:

• Teacher certification with subject eligibility in mathematics and physics
• High digital competence and integrates digital resources into your lessons to improve student learning
• Good knowledge of and familiarity with the curriculum for adult education (Lvux 12) and upper secondary school (GY25)

Your mission as a teacher includes, among other things:

• Conduct teaching in accordance with current governing documents for adult education
• Conduct teaching that contributes to increased goal fulfillment
• Map, implement, and follow up on extra adjustments within the framework of teaching
• Collaborate with colleagues regarding students, teaching, and planning
