About the Social Care Administration and Home Care

Within the Social Care Administration, approximately 1,200 dedicated employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work takes place within elderly care, home care, disability services, and social psychiatry, as well as individual and family care.

In Ystad Municipality, there are eight dedicated home care groups that work every day to create safety, participation, and high quality of life for our users.

The Countryside: Svarte and Löderup

Our night patrol is responsible for care interventions during all night hours and operates across the entire municipality. In the nature-rich areas of Svarte and Löderup, our home care groups work closely with users who have both cognitive illnesses and needs for somatic care. Here, you have the opportunity to combine independent work with proximity to both people and our beautiful countryside. As the work takes place in rural areas, a B-driver's license is required.

Central Ystad

In central Ystad, there are five home care groups where the work is largely performed by bicycle – a convenient and sustainable way of working that creates proximity to both colleagues and users. The Bellahöiden home care group has special competence in cognitive illnesses, while the groups in Östra Förstaden, Centrum, Hälsobacken, and Briggen mainly work with somatic care.

As an assistant nurse with us, you are a key person in our users' everyday lives. You meet people in their own homes and create safety and a dignified existence based on their individual needs.

Your job responsibilities involve more than just care and may include, among other things:

• Providing personal care with respect, warmth, and professionalism.
• Supporting in daily chores such as cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry.
• Creating social safety through conversation, presence, and engagement.
• Performing delegated health and medical care interventions, such as medication administration.
• Working independently with planning of your visits.
• Being an important link between users, relatives, and colleagues.

Qualifications and Merits

To be qualified for the position, the following are required:

• You are trained as an assistant nurse (undersköterska) with a protected professional title.
• You master Swedish in speech and writing (at least passing basic Swedish from grade school Year 9 or SFI D).
• Bicycle proficiency.
• B-driver's license – only for our home care groups in the countryside.

Meritorious is previous experience in care work, home care, and education and experience regarding cognitive illness.

Employment Terms

• Salary: Monthly salary.
• Employment type: Permanent employment.
• Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-31 (Start date according to agreement).
• Working hours: Schedule. Day or evening shifts with duty every other weekend.
