Hybrid and Intervention is now looking for a Radiographer for Intervention 1.

Our Operations

We are seeking a radiographer for Intervention 1. Hybrid and Intervention includes Intervention and Operating Units with hybrid operating rooms. At Intervention 1, we work with Neurointervention as well as Abdominal and Vascular Interventions. Intervention 1 has five intervention rooms. Additionally, the teams participate in various interventional procedures performed in our larger hybrid operating rooms in the operating unit.

Here, we work with operating room nurses and assistant nurses. We perform approximately 3,000 examinations/treatments per year, of which more than 60% involve acute patients. The staff working here includes medical secretaries, assistant nurses, radiographers, anesthesia nurses, interventionalists/radiologists, anesthesiologists, and vascular surgeons, among others.

About the Role

With the goal of becoming Europe's leading university hospital by 2032 and due to an expanded mandate, we are looking for new colleagues to join our team who want to help build the future amidst the rapid development of care and treatment using minimally invasive methods.

As a Radiographer in Intervention, you work in a team consisting of a surgeon and/or radiologist, and an anesthesia nurse. Your work consists of a pre- and post-operative phase. This involves preparing with sterile setup in the LAB, ensuring that all patient preparations are correct before arrival. Together with the team, you receive the patient, and during the procedure, you stand sterile-clad assisting the physician, or alternatively, you pass by managing logistics inside the Angio suite and administering medication according to orders and routines. After completion, you help document and transfer the patient to bed, and arrange transport back to the unit.

Primarily, we work daytime hours. You will be part of the on-call roster, working from home. Abdominal and Vascular has two radiographers on call, and Neuro has two radiographers, or alternatively one assistant nurse and one radiographer on call. We ensure daily and weekly rest and strive for a healthy work environment.

We are a team with great dynamics and commitment to our patients. Trust and a good tone of voice are important for maintaining patient safety, ensuring we help rather than hinder each other. Competence development is an important part of our operations; the future shows that more and more treatment methods will be performed using our technology. We have individual mentoring, where the ward teacher and manager follow development and coach. The training period may take more or less than six months, and an individual assessment is made together with you.

About You

We are looking for you who are a qualified radiographer, preferably with experience from conventional radiography, and who are interested in teamwork. Experience from interventional operations is meritorious. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The clinical foundation year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment with us. The clinical foundation year includes lectures, nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulator Center. In addition, it includes service on at least two different wards to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign qualifications/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish qualification/specialist certificate.
