We are looking for an experienced lawyer who wants to work consultatively with complex legal issues, close to operations and management.

As a municipal lawyer in Kungsbacka Municipality, you will use your legal expertise to contribute to the development of a growing municipality where people's daily lives are at the center.

The role of Municipal Lawyer with us

Being a municipal lawyer in Kungsbacka means working in a multifaceted operation that requires you to quickly, flexibly, and independently familiarize yourself with legal issues.

As a municipal lawyer placed within the Administration for the Municipal Executive Board, you primarily assist the board's politicians and civil servants, as well as the municipality's administrations and committees, with legal matters.

The role also requires a consultative working style, pragmatic handling of your issues, and a desire to support colleagues with advice and guidance based on your areas of expertise. You will collaborate with a fellow municipal lawyer.

The position involves working with issues concerning many different legal fields and with a high degree of complexity within the entire municipal sector.

Responsibilities include, among other things:

• Supporting matters regarding public access and confidentiality, as well as GDPR, the Municipal Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, data protection, and other legislation.
• Conducting legal investigations within various subject areas.
• Drafting cases for the Municipal Executive Board.
• Processing certain appeals.
• Preparing statements for authorities, citizens, and other actors.
• Acting as the municipality's representative in negotiations and legal proceedings in court.

You have knowledge of digital law or are interested in learning.

The work is varied with many contacts, primarily internal, acting as an advisor and trainer in legal matters. Internal training occurs to some extent. It is important that you actively follow legal developments and take the necessary initiatives to ensure the municipality is up to date with current regulations.

Your profile

You have a strategic approach that considers the municipality's best interests, and your guidance supports issues within business development and digitalization for long-term value creation.

As a person, you are analytical and meticulous. You have the ability to structure complex issues, as well as an innovative approach and good judgment.

The work requires very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as the ability to convey information in a pedagogical manner.

As a municipal lawyer, you will have many internal contacts, so your communication and collaboration skills are of great importance.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

We are looking for you who have:

• A law degree and several years of experience in qualified legal work.
• Very good knowledge of public access and confidentiality legislation, as well as GDPR, the Municipal Act, data protection, the Administrative Procedure Act, and other laws and regulations governing municipal and public operations. You have acquired this knowledge through professional experience.
• Knowledge, experience, and understanding of relevant work in a politically governed organization.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience from public law work within a municipality or state, especially central municipal legal work.
• Experience from court work, state administration, or law firm practice.
• Knowledge, experience, and understanding of laws and regulations within the area of digitalization, privacy, and personal data.

Administration for the Municipal Executive Board

The Office of the Municipal Executive Board consists of 15 colleagues who work, among other things, as municipal secretaries, data protection officers, and specialists in information management.

The Office of the Municipal Executive Board is a unit within the Municipal Management Office in the Administration for the Municipal Executive Board. The Urban Planning Office is also located within this administration.

We work in an activity-based manner and approve remote work to a high degree.
