About the role – a job that makes a difference every day

Working in the Crime Group means meeting people at various stages of life, often with norm-breaking behaviors or a background in crime. It is a job that requires security, sensitivity, and courage, but also curiosity, warmth, and a strong belief in people's ability to change. You are never alone. In our group, there is close collaboration, co-case management, and daily support, meaning we carry both work tasks and challenges together.

You work with the target group aged 0–100 and meet children, young people, and adults who need support, structure, and guidance in different ways. The work is based on evidence-based practice, Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR), and a clear focus on understanding the drivers behind behaviors and creating individually tailored solutions.

In the Crime Group, we work with examples such as:

  • Statements according to the Act on Young Offenders
  • Execution of sanctions such as youth service and youth care
  • Mapping and assessment based on RNR
  • Structured change work together with the individual and their network

The problems are often complex and multifaceted, but the work is simultaneously developmental, meaningful, and filled with small and large successes.

The Crime Group is part of the Child and Family Unit (BFE), which belongs to the Social and Employment Administration. The unit consists of six teams with present managers, experienced senior social workers, and colleagues who want you to succeed and thrive.
