Electrician Trainee Program – SSAB Borlänge
SSAB EMEA ABDalarnas län, Borlänge

to apply for the job
SSAB is preparing for the transition to fossil-free steel, and we need more electricians now. This autumn, we are launching a trainee program for electricians, which involves working practically with common tasks on one or more maintenance sections at SSAB for one year, interspersed with training.
The trainee program is tailored to the individual, taking into account interest, previous studies/work experience, and the company's needs. The training is full-time, and all practical training takes place at SSAB during daytime hours. You will receive a contractual salary as a regular electrician throughout the training. After completing the trainee program, you will continue working on one of our maintenance sections.
Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey we believe is crucial for the planet's future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for our societal development and will remain so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities, and in tomorrow's cars. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries with the highest greenhouse gas emissions globally. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free steel production process and committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play a vital role in achieving this goal and contributing to the green transition of the entire steel industry.
What does an electrician do here?
As an automation electrician at SSAB, you primarily work with preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as condition monitoring, of all existing electrical equipment, control systems, and drive systems. You are therefore a key cog in the preventive maintenance work at SSAB Borlänge.
You work on one of several sections performing preventive and corrective electrical maintenance. Together in the work group, you drive the development and improvement of condition-based and preventive maintenance within your area. Smaller projects may also be included in the assignment.
In daily work, you handle administrative tasks in our maintenance system, IFS, including planning work orders and ordering spare parts. You schedule services and perform repairs on all existing electrical equipment. Measurement technology, data analysis, and condition monitoring of our process lines are also part of the job.
Your background
We are looking for you who have a high school education in electricity, automation, control/regulation technology, or drive systems, or alternatively, have equivalent documented knowledge in electricity. Experience with networks and IT systems is desirable but not required. You can be newly graduated or established with many years of experience in the profession.
Good knowledge of Swedish and English is required, as documentation and communication with suppliers take place in these languages. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities. As a future electrician at SSAB, we are looking for a careful and structured person who is capable of working both independently and in a team.
