We have made our decision! We aim to be a leading municipality – and we have everything it takes to succeed. Short decision-making paths, collaboration across operational boundaries, and the desire to dare more. Our high ambitions give you, with your own drive, the opportunity to grow and create positive change for the citizens. As an employee of Ekerö Municipality, you will have a valuable role in our unique island world – and we look forward to your application.
The Employment Unit is part of the employment chain responsible for the municipality's labor market measures. Our goal is to provide the residents of Ekerö with good conditions to enter studies, work, and employment. We work to enable more citizens to find the right livelihood.
Job Description
We believe in you and your abilities – therefore, we give you great freedom in your role. The work in care is independent, enjoyable, and developmental. Many who work with us appreciate the trust and responsibility they receive in our municipality, as it contributes to significant learning and development in everyday life. To succeed, you are confident in yourself and in your professional role. Together with you, we want to drive the work forward.
The Social Services Administration in Ekerö is in an exciting phase of development, focusing on strengthening people's opportunities to approach the labor market. We work to support individuals who, for various reasons, stand outside the regular labor market, helping them develop their resources, strengthen their own abilities, and take steps toward work, studies, or other meaningful employment.
In a team-based working method, we work closely with each other and our participants to create individual and sustainable solutions. Our common goal is to strengthen people's opportunities for self-support, increased participation, and an independent life.
Here, you will work with people from different backgrounds, experiences, and conditions – both persons with and without disabilities, as well as persons subject to the activity requirement. The activity requirement means that persons receiving social assistance must participate in activities designated by the municipality to retain their benefit. The purpose is to strengthen the individual's opportunities for work or studies through group activities, individual coaching, language support, competence-enhancing measures, work training, work trials, internships, or supported employment.
As a Work Coach, you play an important role in supporting people on their way to work, studies, or other meaningful employment. You motivate, guide, and coach participants based on their individual conditions and contribute to creating a safe, structured, and developmental environment that promotes learning, participation, and hope for the future.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should:
- Have experience in work leadership, work coaching, mentoring, or other work with people outside the labor market.
- Have the ability to motivate, support, and guide individuals with different backgrounds, conditions, and needs.
- Be confident in creating structure, planning and organizing activities, and following up on results.
- Have good communication skills and an easy ability to build trusting relationships.
- Be solution-oriented, flexible, and responsible in your approach to work.
- Have good skills in documenting and following up on participants' development.
- Enjoy working both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and external actors.
- Have good computer skills and be able to handle documentation in various operational systems.
- Hold a valid B driver's license.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability. The role requires you to be sensitive, engaged, and relationship-building. You have the ability to see the individual's strengths and opportunities while also setting clear boundaries and creating structure in everyday life.
Selection and interviews will be conducted during August 2026. We thank you for your patience and look forward to receiving your application.
Start Date: By agreement
Hours: Full-time

About Ekerö Municipality
We are a multitude of different operations that together create a unique municipality – where we all help each other across unit and operational boundaries. We live our core values, which mean great commitment, good communication with open dialogue, and a professional attitude. Ekerö Municipality wants to be an attractive employer and strives for a clear focus on sustainability. Provided that the operation's ability to achieve its goals remains, the municipality has a positive attitude towards remote work when possible.
We offer, for example, wellness benefits, pension exchange, swapping holiday pay for days off, and smoke-free working hours. To ensure the quality of our recruitment process, we ask you to submit your application digitally, not via email or post.
