About Us

We are now looking for a nurse for a parental leave vacancy and offer a workplace where you have the opportunity to develop together with knowledgeable and supportive colleagues.

En väg in (EVI) is a region-wide contact center for children and young people with mental health issues in the Region of Västra Götaland. At EVI, referrals to all the region's Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) clinics are also handled, along with counseling calls from, among others, young people, guardians, and care partners. Organizationally, EVI belongs to Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

En väg in is located in central premises in Gothenburg, where a team of approximately 20 people works to provide the region's children and young people with the right psychiatric care at the right time and at the right level. Here, nurses, psychologists, doctors, and care administrative secretaries work together. During a colleague's parental leave, we are now looking for a qualified nurse.

At EVI, we work in a cross-professional manner and benefit from each other's experiences and competencies. We also continuously provide staff training in areas relevant to the operations, and we collaborate with BUP's outpatient clinics in the region, as well as care partners and cooperation partners such as primary care, social services, and school health services.

Job Responsibilities

Your workday at En väg in consists mainly of two parts: assessing incoming referrals and staffing our counseling hotline.

Guardians and, to some extent, young people call the counseling hotline with questions regarding mental health. Your task is to triage them to the appropriate level of care (BUP or primary care) or provide self-care advice, supported by developed triage documents and current RMRs (Regional Medical Guidelines). Care partners and cooperation partners also call the counseling hotline.

In the referral assessment, all referrals to BUP in the region are handled, including self-referrals. These are assessed in teams of at least two employees, and the main task here is also to triage to the correct level of care.

About You

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse. You have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing, and good knowledge of English. You have good IT skills. We consider it meritorious if you have previous experience working with children and young people with mental health issues and/or experience with referral assessment.

Great importance is placed on your personal qualities, where a good approach is central in the telephone contact with children/young people and their parents. Since you work in a team with referral assessments and have contact with various cooperation partners, you also need to have very good teamwork skills.

To thrive in the role, you need to be able to maintain quality and pace in methodical and recurring tasks. At the same time, you need to be flexible and able to shift focus when priorities change.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Base Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment. It includes lectures, nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, there is a placement at another department to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign qualifications/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish qualification/specialist certificate.
