The Executive Office of Region Uppsala is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The Executive Office is led by the Regional Director and consists of approximately one thousand employees. With a governing, supportive, and coordinating role, the Executive Office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations to ensure that political guidelines are implemented across the region's various operations. Our Operations

The Finance Department is an operational and strategic function that supports the political leadership and regional management in matters concerning governance processes and finance in a broad sense, as well as supporting the region's administrations in matters related to business economics and analytical support.

We are now looking for an experienced Controller for Region Uppsala's Executive Office to work with business economics related to the Executive Office's own operations. You will become part of a controller group with broad expertise in the financial field. The group works both close to the operations and with other units within the Finance Department.

Your Role

As a Controller at the Executive Office, you are a central partner for the operations. You drive budgeting, forecasting, and follow-up processes, and are responsible for project reporting in external projects. Through a proactive approach, you support department and unit managers with qualified analyses and provide the Finance Manager and leadership with decision-making support. The role also involves developing and leading financial processes and participating in various working groups and projects.

You will be part of an engaged team of five controllers where we share knowledge, support each other, and enjoy working together.

The position is located at the Executive Office, and you report directly to the Finance Manager.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic degree in economics/finance
• Several years of experience in qualified controller work, with good knowledge of budgeting, analysis, and follow-up
• Multi-year experience in working close to operations with financial management, analysis, and decision support
• Very good skills in Excel
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear analyses and decision-making support
• Fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience with BI and analysis tools, such as SAS
• Experience from large, complex organizations
• Experience in project economics financed by EU structural funds, national authorities, or other similar external funders.
• Experience contributing to the development of working methods, models, or governance within the financial field
