Environmental Strategist for Svalöv and Klippan Municipalities
Svalöv Municipality – strategically located within the "Family Helsingborg" – offers proximity, optimism, and a favorable climate for work and life. Good transport connections make commuting easy. Approximately 14,500 residents live here.

Svalöv and Klippan municipalities are collaborating on a position as an Environmental Strategist for a one-year fixed-term contract starting September 1, 2026. The position is 100% and your time will be split 50/50 between the two municipalities. You can adjust which municipality you are physically located in from day to day based on current conditions.
This is an exciting and innovative way of working that we hope will create synergies for both municipalities.
Both Svalöv and Klippan municipalities have a strategic location within the "Family Helsingborg" and offer proximity, optimism, and a favorable climate for work and life. Good transport connections make commuting easy. Both are rural municipalities that are similar to each other, with Svalöv having approximately 14,500 and Klippan approximately 17,700 residents. Both municipalities offer work in a smaller organization where collaboration, responsibility, and development go hand in hand.

Job Responsibilities
In your role, you will:
- Drive and integrate environmental issues into physical planning, such as comprehensive plans, detailed plans, and urban development projects
- Prepare and coordinate environmental assessments and investigations, such as Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), as well as analyses related to air quality and noise based on environmental quality standards
- Prepare investigations and background material on energy issues
- Lead processes to develop, implement, and follow up on policy documents within the environmental and sustainability field
- Coordinate cross-municipal projects and initiatives within sustainable societal development
- Participate in and represent the municipality in water councils
- Provide support and guidance to administrations on environmental and sustainability issues
- Handle consultations and participate in procurement within the area
You are responsible for developing and coordinating the environmental strategic work in the municipality and contribute with environmental scanning and knowledge dissemination. The role covers both strategic, tactical, and operational perspectives.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
- Have a relevant higher education or university degree in environmental science, urban planning, or similar education that the employer deems equivalent
- Have experience and competence in environmental strategic work, preferably in public sector operations
- Have good knowledge of the Environmental Code, the Planning and Building Act, and environmental assessment processes
- Have experience leading projects or processes
To succeed in the role, you are a structured and driving person who takes responsibility for moving the work forward towards set goals. You have good analytical skills and can switch between a holistic perspective and a focus on details.
You work independently, are solution-oriented, and have the ability to translate strategies into concrete results. You have very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
If necessary, you will be visiting different locations in the municipalities; a Class B driver's license is required.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: Start date: 2026-09-01, End date: 2027-08-31.
