The Medicine Department consists of 21 inpatient beds caring for adult patients with internal medicine conditions. In addition to our inpatient care, we also have a day care unit that handles a sub-acute flow of patients who receive treatment during the day and can then go home. The Medicine Department is part of the Operations Area (VO) Acute and Medicine and has approximately 270 employees. At the medicine department, we do not treat just a specific diagnosis but look at the whole individual.

We see ourselves as a learning organization and run, among other things, clinical training rooms (KUS) with the possibility to supervise students and with a clinical teacher attached to the department. Job Description

As a nurse with us, you work with nursing and treatment of both acute and chronic internal medicine diseases. The work involves assessing patients' need for nursing, as well as planning and carrying out measures to treat but also prevent further illness and injury during the care period. In a cross-professional team, you work together with doctors, assistant nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists with a shared responsibility for the patients in your team. Close to the team also work a counselor, pharmacist, dietitian, and unit manager nurse. A coordinator has an overview of the department's care places and collaboration with the municipality and primary care.

We are keen on you entering your work in a secure way and are therefore welcomed with a well-developed introduction program that runs for six weeks. For newly graduated nurses, a clinical base year is also offered, which includes lectures and clinical skills training. We also offer continuous competence development for all staff, both with internal and external training.

The position involves working evenings and weekends according to schedule. With us, you have the opportunity to develop in a varied operation where, after introduction and experience from the department, you can also work within day care. This gives you the opportunity to broaden your competence and follow the patient through different parts of the care chain. If interested in advanced competence, there is an opportunity to study to become a specialist nurse.

Qualifications

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Furthermore, you are a licensed nurse with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. You have language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. If you have previous experience working in internal medicine, it is considered an advantage. The same applies if you have previous experience with the care systems Melior and Mina Planer.
