We are now looking for a payroll specialist who wants to work in an organization where teamwork, development, and quality are at the center. At the payroll unit in Falu Municipality, you will become part of an engaged team that together is responsible for creating a modern and efficient payroll process.
Job Responsibilities
As a payroll specialist with us, you will become an important addition to a team that together is responsible for handling payroll for approximately 7,500 employees in Falun and Säter. The payroll unit consists of 21 colleagues with roles such as system administrators, system operators, payroll specialists, payroll administrators, and pension case handlers. At the payroll unit in Falu Municipality, you will become part of engaged colleagues who together are responsible for creating a modern and efficient payroll process. We work in several different teams – payroll management, system administration & development, and support for employees and authorities.
Your main responsibilities include among other things:
- Work with the entire payroll process – from registration and quality assurance to analysis and follow-up
- Handling of employment matters and other payroll documentation.
- Interpret collective agreements, laws, and internal guidelines.
- Controls, such as auditing absence, medical certificates, and discrepancies.
- Support to managers and employees in payroll-related matters.
- Preparation of certificates, including employer certificates, income certificates, and employment certificates.
- Collaborate with HR and other functions to create a holistic delivery.
- Contact with authorities and case management related to the payroll area.
- Actively participate in development and improvement work within the payroll area, including digitalization and smarter ways of working.
Qualifications
Required for the role:
- Post-secondary vocational education in payroll or high school economics
- Experience working with payroll administration for at least 1 year
- Good knowledge of labor law, agreements, laws, and application within payroll
- Good familiarity with working with IT systems and the Office package
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Analytical ability, integrity, and a systematic approach to work

Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with qualified payroll work, preferably within municipal operations
- Knowledge of municipal collective agreements and Appendix M
- Experience working in the systems Personec P and/or Medvind
- Experience providing support and advice to managers in payroll and agreement matters
- Experience with pension administration
Employment Terms
The recruitment is for a permanent full-time position, starting as agreed.
