Youth Job in Healthcare and Elderly Care – Hörby Municipality
Hörby Municipality offers a variety of tasks and professions. Working with us is primarily about providing service to our citizens. We actively strive to be a good employer with favorable employment terms, a good work environment, and opportunities for development.
For those between the ages of 18 and 21, Hörby Municipality offers youth jobs within two of our key operations: healthcare and social care (meal services are advertised in a separate job posting).
This is an opportunity for you who want to gain work experience, try out a profession, and take a step closer to work or studies. You do not need to have worked before. The most important thing is that you are curious, eager to try new things, and interested in learning.
When you start, you will receive an introduction to the workplace. You will also be assigned a supervisor or contact person who will help you get started with your tasks and whom you can turn to during your employment.
3 positions available.
Job Responsibilities
In healthcare and social care, you will work within elderly care, for example in a care or service apartment. You will be part of an operation where elderly people receive support, security, and community in their daily lives.
You will work together with regular staff and become part of a team where different professional roles collaborate around the daily lives of the elderly, such as assistant nurses, care assistants, and nurses.
You might help with tasks such as:
- Social activities
- Walks and outdoor activities
- Support during meals
- Simple practical tasks in daily life
- Contributing to well-being, security, and community
- Being an extra support in activities and everyday situations
An important part of the job is to meet people with respect and contribute to a meaningful daily life for the elderly.
You will not perform tasks that require healthcare education, delegation, medication handling, or independent care responsibility.
This role is suitable for you who are curious about working with people and want to experience what it is like to work in elderly care.
Qualifications
The youth jobs are aimed at individuals born between 2005 and 2008, who are residents of Hörby Municipality and have turned 18 by September 1, 2026. You should be outside of work and studies, or have recently completed or interrupted your upper secondary education.
Since these positions are part of a special initiative for youth jobs, we prioritize applicants who are outside of work and studies.
You do not need formal education or previous work experience. It is an advantage if you enjoy service, practical work, or helping others. Most importantly, you must be interested, willing to learn, and do your best based on your circumstances.
For employment, you must be able to provide a certificate of good conduct (extract from the police register) before starting.
