The Workplace

The Community Development Administration covers a broad spectrum of operations and is responsible for streets, parks, water and wastewater, planning and building issues, municipal properties, catering and facility maintenance, as well as the administration that holds everything together. Within the Water and Wastewater Unit, we work to ensure that the municipality's residents always have stable and secure access to clean drinking water and a functioning wastewater management system. Here, you will become part of a knowledgeable team with a strong spirit of collaboration and a desire to both develop operations and support each other in daily work.

The current staff consists of 3 operations technicians, and this position means we are expanding the organization. By increasing the number of team members, we enhance both competence and security in daily work. This contributes to a safer work environment, as the risk of working alone decreases and we can support each other even better when needed.

Job Responsibilities

As an Operations Technician within VA, you work with the daily operation of the municipality's water and wastewater facilities. This involves both practical fieldwork and monitoring processes in digital systems. You monitor the status of the facilities, conduct rounds, inspections, and sampling, and ensure that the technology functions as intended. When problems arise, you troubleshoot, find solutions, and plan necessary measures. The work is varied and involves both emergency interventions and long-term improvement work, where you contribute to developing routines and operational methods. Documentation and reporting are also included, as well as ensuring compliance with laws and requirements. On-call duty is part of the role.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a technical background, preferably with connections to operations, process industry, electricity, or the VA sector. Experience from similar operations is advantageous, but most importantly, you are curious, solution-oriented, and thrive in a role where you get to work systematically with technology, quality, and improvements in daily life. You need to feel comfortable using IT systems as work tools and hold a valid B-driver's license. Previous experience with control and regulation technology, sampling, or municipal VA operations is advantageous – but the most important factor is a willingness to learn and contribute.
