We are now looking for a caretaker who wants to contribute with the best service, quality, and development for our primary schools in the Hisingen 2 area in Gothenburg.

The MLV (meals, premises care, and caretaking) operations within the Primary School Administration are responsible for meal services as well as premises care and caretaking services at our schools. In the Hisingen area, caretakers work to deliver top-class service. For each unit, there is a head of meals and a head of premises care and caretaking.

The Hisingen 2 school area includes Ryaskolan, Sjumilaskolan, Nya skolan, Landamäreskolan, Svartedalsskolan, Nya Lundbyskolan, Blackevägen Meeting Center & Aula.

Job Responsibilities

As a caretaker with us, you have a broad role with varied tasks. This can include everything from assembly work, changing light sources, repairs, monthly and quarterly fire alarm tests, work with tournaments, and waste management. The work may involve heavy lifting. You work with service and enjoy helping others. It is important for you to have a well-functioning collaboration with schools and colleagues. The work involves both responsibility for assignments according to ongoing maintenance routines and for fault reports from schools.

It is important that you enjoy the responsibility of being a good adult role model at the school. Good communication and collaboration with both students and other adults moving in the school environment is a prerequisite. Gothenburg City works with self-service for absence reporting. We use tools from Office365 in our work, primarily email via Outlook, but also Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, Excel, and Word.

Working hours are daytime according to schedule. On-call duty and readiness do occur in connection with tournaments, elections, and other events.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a secondary education and experience of work within caretaking, property management, craft professions, or similar. Since we serve several schools, you must have a driver's license for passenger cars (B) and driving experience. The position also involves some administrative work, so good computer skills are required, as well as the ability to express yourself fluently in Swedish in both speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have craft training, facility maintenance training, or education within property management. It is also meritorious if you have experience of work within property management and if you have knowledge of Office365, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, Word, and Excel.

As a person, you are independent and act on your own based on what the situation requires without needing support from others. You are service-oriented and have the interest, will, and ability to help others, and you strive to present solutions. The role also requires that you have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. You have communicative skills and can express yourself clearly and effectively. You are flexible and adapt easily, both to people and situations.
