At the Community Development Administration, more than 180 employees work with infrastructure and environmental protection in our municipality. We are responsible for the planning and operation of construction projects, road networks, parking spaces, public areas, parks, waste management, as well as water and wastewater treatment plants. Our area of responsibility also includes traffic safety, accessibility, security, and a generally good environment for residents, as well as regulatory enforcement based on the Environmental Code and food legislation, with supervision and preventive work in focus.

We are now looking for an Operations Technician for the Water and Wastewater Treatment Unit within the Water and Wastewater (VA) Department. The VA Department is responsible for the municipal water and wastewater supply and consists of three units. The Water and Wastewater Treatment Unit, to which this position belongs, is responsible for the operation, development, and optimization of processes at our water and wastewater treatment plants. This position is located at the wastewater treatment plants.

Job Description

As an operations technician, you will be part of the unit responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's wastewater treatment facilities. The employees in the unit are stationed at the Nolhaga treatment plant, but the work takes place at all treatment plants and pumping stations throughout the municipality.

Wastewater treatment takes place in automated processes that are controlled and monitored via operational data systems. Good computer skills are therefore a prerequisite for being able to handle the automation systems used in the operation. An important part of the job is to continuously analyze and optimize the process to guarantee the treatment of wastewater. In addition, instrument management is an important task for the position.

There is a wide variety of tasks, such as conducting inspections of the facilities, working with preventive maintenance, performing repairs, troubleshooting problems, and resolving operational disruptions.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

  • Have good technical understanding
  • Have good computer skills
  • Hold a valid B driver's license
  • Have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

  • Previous experience in operation and maintenance work within process operations
  • Education in water and wastewater technology (VA)
  • Knowledge in mechatronics, electrical engineering, instrumentation, and/or control systems

As a person, you are positive, cooperative, flexible, and responsible. You are service-oriented and communicate well in spoken and written Swedish. You are curious and engaged in contributing to the development of operations and can work both independently and in a team. You have a solution-oriented approach and can make well-founded decisions independently when the situation requires it.

Since on-call duty is included in the position and the response time for alarms is a maximum of 60 minutes, it is required that you reside in an area where this response time can be maintained.
