AVL is one of the world’s leading mobility technology companies for development, simulation, and testing in the automotive industry and beyond. We provide concepts, solutions, and methodologies in fields such as vehicle development and integration, e-mobility, automated and connected mobility (ADAS/AD), and software for a greener, safer, and better world of mobility.
AVL continues to grow within automotive embedded software and is now looking for an Automotive Software Engineer – ASW to join our team in Gothenburg.
This role is for you if you thrive with responsibility, enjoy varied technical tasks, and like working in an international environment. You will become an important part of a growing team and contribute to the development of future vehicle software features.
AVL is a leading partner in Electromobility, Vehicle, and ADAS/AD within the automotive and energy industries. In Sweden, we have approximately 250 employees based in Gothenburg, Haninge, Stockholm, and Södertälje. As an engineer here, you work closely with experts both globally within AVL and at our customers' sites – always with cutting-edge technology.
As an Automotive Software Engineer, you work on the development of software for vehicle functions and electrified systems. You will be active throughout the entire development chain – from requirements and architecture to integration and testing – and you will work both practically and methodologically in advanced development projects.
In this role, you will work closely with system engineers and architects to translate requirements into robust software architecture, using modeling and design tools to support your work. You are responsible for designing and developing application functionality and algorithms, either by writing clean and efficient code in C or C++, or through modeling and implementation in Simulink. The role also involves participating in and contributing to modern CI/CD environments and using version control tools such as Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, and Docker.
You support verification and validation activities throughout the software lifecycle, which includes static code analysis, unit testing, as well as testing in MIL, SIL, and HIL environments. An important part of the role is also ensuring stable build processes and handling software integration in a structured manner. Furthermore, you work cross-functionally and multidisciplinary according to MBSE principles and agile working methods. In this role, you work either in our internal projects or on assignment at one of our customers.
