Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan) makes 21 million decisions that impact people's lives and society as a whole. We disburse approximately 260 billion SEK annually. These are taxpayers' money we are entrusted with, which is a significant responsibility. Therefore, we innovate and utilize the latest technology to simplify, improve, develop, and deliver IT services for the Swedish social insurance system. Welcome to one of Sweden's largest IT departments.

The Payment business area manages the systems at Försäkringskassan that ensure payments reach the recipient on time. Our contribution is a prerequisite for the Swedish welfare system to function. This is seriously important. We now need to reinforce several of our teams working on our payment systems.

Java, Development, and Agile Teams

We work in close collaboration between IT and the business when creating new payment systems and maintaining our existing ones. To go even further on our development journey, we need to strengthen our team with more driven and innovative system developers who want to influence and drive change.

As a system developer here, you will work with both back-end and front-end development. We work in agile teams, where the teams are self-organizing and autonomous. You are expected to take on various tasks throughout the entire development chain. DevOps is now a natural part of the team's daily routine.

We believe we become better when we work together, and therefore our work is characterized by collaboration and dialogue.

The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you have a high level of security awareness when working with us.

We are looking for you who:

  • have a university degree or experience and qualifications that can be assessed as equivalent
  • have relevant work experience as a system developer
  • have experience programming in Java
  • act on your own initiative and take responsibility for high-quality results
  • collaborate effectively to achieve common goals
  • have good communication skills
  • have good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • experience with agile working methods (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban)
  • experience in front-end development, such as with Vue or React
  • experience with OpenShift and container technology
  • experience working in the area of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (e.g., Jenkins Pipeline, GitOps, Docker, and Kubernetes)
  • experience with testing and test automation (Cucumber, Cypress)
  • experience working with requirements analysis.

Other Information

Multiple positions, permanent, full-time, with start date as agreed. Probationary employment may apply. Some positions with us involve participation in security-sensitive operations. To be employed in such a position, a successful security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) is required.
