Your responsibilities

We are looking for dedicated and pedagogical teachers for our vocational program in Land and Construction (Mark och anläggning). You will teach core subjects and contribute to providing students with a stable foundation for their future professional lives.

As a teacher with us, you work both in the classroom and close to reality through the students' Workplace-Based Learning (APL). This work includes:

• Maintaining regular contact with workplaces and supervisors.
• Conducting workplace visits.
• Monitoring, assessing, and documenting student development.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching, as well as assessing students' goal achievement and providing clear feedback. You will also be part of a work team where collaboration with colleagues is the focus.

Your qualifications

We are primarily looking for you who are trained and certified as a teacher.

The position also requires:

• Good professional experience within your subject area.
• A valid driver's license (Category B), as the work includes external visits and APL assignments.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to build good relationships with young people and partners.

The following are particularly meritorious:

• Pedagogical experience from upper secondary school.
• An established network within relevant industries.
• Experience in supervision, APL coordination, or other working life contacts.
• Experience working with vocational training, adult education, or similar operations.

We also welcome those who are not yet trained as vocational teachers but have substantial professional experience in land construction. If you have started or are willing to start a vocational teacher education, we view this as meritorious. For those who do not yet have teacher certification, employment may become available in the form of a fixed-term appointment of one year according to the provisions of the School Act.

Personal competencies

In your work as a teacher, you combine close collaboration with colleagues and APL supervisors with open communication so that all parties know what is expected and how the students are developing. When challenges arise, you use your problem-solving skills to quickly find practical and pedagogical solutions that benefit student learning. Through a clear planning and structured approach, you ensure that teaching, APL visits, and documentation are carried out in a thoughtful and quality-assured manner.

If you are offered employment within upper secondary and adapted upper secondary schools at the Education and Labour Market Administration, you will need to present an extract from the Police Register of Offenses for work in schools or preschools. The extract is free to order but may take up to 2–3 weeks for the Police to process. We therefore recommend that you order the extract well in advance.

Before employment begins, you need to show that you have the right to work, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance. You do this by proving your citizenship within the EU/EEA or Switzerland with a passport, national ID card, or certificate of personal status together with an identity document. If you cannot do this, you need to present a work permit or show that you are exempt from the requirement for a work permit.

The position will be filled subject to necessary decisions being made.

In the recruitment process, we may use work psychological tests as part of the selection work.

We also use digital reference checking as part of the recruitment process. This means that as a candidate, you may be asked to provide references digitally at a later stage of the process.
