At the Adapted Upper Secondary School, we are approximately 30 dedicated employees with various professional roles who together create the best conditions for the student to reach the goals. Currently, we have two national programs as well as an individual program, and we are located in different premises at Falkenberg Upper Secondary School.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a teacher for our national programs Health, Care and Nursing and Trade and Service at the Adapted Upper Secondary School. You will primarily teach Swedish, English, Mathematics, and Religion in small groups, where you, together with colleagues, plan the teaching. The assignment also includes mentorship and being available during students' breaks, etc.

Teaching is based on the curriculum for the Adapted Upper Secondary School. In planning and individualizing teaching, you use young people's daily life and culture, alternative learning tools, current research, and a scientific foundation. You reflect individually and together with colleagues on the work, with the aim of continuously developing both pedagogically and professionally. Furthermore, you assess, analyze, and document the individual student's needs and results.

In the role of a leader, you create a safe and developmental learning environment. You build trusting relationships with students and other partners, characterized by positive expectations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disability (requirement for a permanent employment) and/or have a primary teacher degree with a focus on grades 4–6 with the qualification to teach math, Swedish, English, and Religion.

You must have the ability to plan individualized and varied teaching based on an overview of the pedagogical plan. You must have the ability to integrate digital technology into teaching as well as a tool for information, documentation, and communication. The work requires that you have good collaborative and communicative skills, are good at finding flexible solutions both in dialogues with students and in teaching.

You are a professional, responsible, and clear leader who can make decisions, structure, and organize. Your leadership is characterized by the ability to set boundaries, and you are a good representative of our value base.

You have a relational approach and the ability to build and adapt relationships based on each student's conditions, needs, and the situation that prevails, with the aim of creating meaning and clarity in learning and making students' progression visible.

Experience working at an Adapted Upper Secondary School and experience working with youth with intellectual disabilities is meritorious.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability for the position.

Employment percentage: 60%.
