The Department of Culture and Leisure is responsible for the municipality's cultural and leisure activities. Our main task is to help people nurture and develop their interests in culture, leisure, and sports. We serve all residents, but children and young adults are a prioritized target group. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher at Varberg's Music School (Kulturskolan), you teach children and young people aged 5–20. You teach students individually and in groups, and you work with the school's digital operational system. You are part of a subject group but collaborate across multiple groups and participate in the school's joint projects.

Main responsibilities:

  • Teach electric guitar, guitar, and ensemble. Both individually and in groups.

The workload corresponds to one day per week, but can be increased if needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We believe that you, as a candidate, have the ability to focus on the child's perspective and are driven by the goal of ensuring every student gets the best possible encounter with their cultural expression. We believe you can stimulate students' curiosity and creativity and adapt your teaching from beginner to advanced levels. As a person, you are proactive and drive the operations forward with engagement. You are good at collaborating.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a teaching degree in the subject or training considered equivalent.
  • Has experience teaching children and young people in guitar and ensemble.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • A B driver's license (advantageous but not a requirement)
  • Digital competencies relevant to your educational field
  • The ability to teach multiple subjects

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and make a holistic assessment of your combined competencies.

Salary: Hourly wage.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-08-10. Start date by agreement, end date: 2027-06-17.
