SiS Youth Home Margretelund receives non-compulsory school-age girls and boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. We have operations in Lidköping and near Falköping.

SiS Youth Home Margretelund is seeking a Psychologist

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Margretelund consists of eight units, six located in Lidköping and two in Falköping. The target group is adolescents of high school age with serious psychosocial issues.

As a psychologist, you will be an integral part of our health care team, which consists of four nurses and three psychologists. The team is led by the youth home's quality manager.

Young people placed at SiS are taken into care under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and care is generally provided in locked facilities. Placed young people often come from difficult social circumstances, and substance abuse, criminality, and serious behavioral problems combined with psychiatric issues are common.

As a psychologist at SiS, you work individually focused on assessment interviews such as screening, suicide risk assessments, or targeted mapping. Your primary focus is on support conversations and psychoeducation, although some counseling therapy may occur.

Investigations are conducted within the framework of SiS's student health services mission or according to agreement with the placing social worker. You are part of the treatment team for each young person, working together with the unit manager, treatment social worker, treatment coordinator, teacher, and nurse, contributing a psychological perspective to this work.

In the effort to ensure placed young people have an unbroken chain of care, the psychologist plays a key role in collaborating with other healthcare providers. You are often the first point of contact regarding the mental health issues experienced by our placed young people and serve as a support function for treatment staff in matters related to the young person's mental well-being.

The psychologist's role at SiS is also consultative and educational, including work with trauma-informed care (TIC) and suicide prevention. In the immediate vicinity, there is the newly established youth home Gudhemsgården, with which Margretelund collaborates closely. As a psychologist, you have close proximity to psychologist colleagues at each respective unit.

Qualifications

Psychologist license or a degree in psychology (for PTP employment).

You are humble and collaborate easily with others. You communicate well both verbally and in writing and are accustomed to taking responsibility for, planning, and defining the boundaries of your work. You can switch between different explanatory models for young people's difficulties and are well-versed in psychiatric investigation methods and CBT-based treatment.

Experience working with clients in locked environments and/or within psychiatry is advantageous. Personal suitability is given great weight.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time position starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
