About the Role

Our Pharmacy Department is currently seeking a Ward Pharmacist for a fixed-term position within psychiatry at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. If you have an interest in psychiatry and wish to work closely with other healthcare professions, this may be the right role for you.

Our Pharmacy Department is a unit within the Medicines Operations at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Here, dispensing pharmacists and pharmacists work as ward pharmacists and clinical pharmacists across care units throughout the hospital. The unit consists of approximately 75 employees organized under three unit managers.

Within Medicines Operations, you will also find Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology Lab (CBAR), Medicine Service, Inpatient Dosing, and Extempore Manufacturing. Together, we create the right medicine, the right support, and the right quality – for care where medicines are used safely, effectively, and with the highest possible benefit for the patient. The operations have both regional and hospital-specific assignments.

What We Offer

Our objective is to offer stimulating and developing work where you, as a ward pharmacist, work as part of the team in the care unit where you are placed. You contribute pharmaceutical expertise to daily work and serve as a knowledge resource for healthcare staff.

You will receive a structured introduction from experienced colleagues and have the opportunity for competence development based on the unit's needs and your goals. The position may involve weekend shifts and work at other units within Sahlgrenska University Hospital where our Pharmacy Department operates.

Responsibilities

As a ward pharmacist, you work closely with patients and healthcare staff with a focus on safe medication management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Preparation of oral and parenteral medication doses.
• Ordering medications and managing medication rooms.
• Introducing new nurses to medication management and preparation.
• Providing competence support regarding medications and medication management.
• Quality work to ensure safe medication management.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed dispensing pharmacist or pharmacist with at least two years of professional experience. Interest in psychiatry is meritorious.

To thrive in this role, you need to be flexible, able to prioritize and plan your work based on operational needs, and have an aptitude for collaboration and building good relationships. You work independently, take initiative, and have a quality-conscious and solution-oriented approach. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Start Date: 2026-10-01 or as agreed. Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
