Markverkstad Skaraborg is a department within the Ground Workshop Unit and has approximately 120 employees in various sub-areas in Karlsborg and at Såtenäs. Our mission is to perform maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' ground equipment, airbase equipment, and deliver technical system support. This involves maintenance in the form of supervision, repairs, manufacturing, dismantling/scraping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation, and equipment inspection.
You will belong to the sub-department Light Wheeled Vehicles/Marine and work with approximately 14 other mechanics, being part of a team that works together and supports each other. Everyone is equally important, and the work encourages collaboration where knowledge is shared.
Main Tasks
As a mechanic, you will primarily work with service, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of various types of vehicles as well as other objects and marine units. Since we are not comparable to a commercial brand workshop, we primarily use general diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting, etc. Our focus is the segment of light wheeled vehicles/marine with a wide variety of objects such as standard cars, off-road vehicles, patrol vehicles of various kinds, light trucks, snowmobiles, trailers, boats of various types including engines, and all types of small machines used within the Swedish Armed Forces.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- You have at least a two- or three-year approved upper secondary education in vehicle technology, vehicle focus, or other education/competence acquired through professional experience that we assess as equivalent
- A few years of experience in repairing and maintaining vehicles
- Category B driver's license
- Good computer skills

The role can sometimes involve a high pace; therefore, we see that you need to be stress-resistant and have a good ability to prioritize tasks individually or collectively. We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude towards the work we perform primarily for the Swedish Armed Forces.

MERITORIOUS
- Experience with Swedish Armed Forces equipment and vehicles
- Experience working with vehicle electronics/electronics and diagnostics
- Swedish Armed Forces mechanic training on a specific equipment system or alternatively systems engineer training
- Driver's licenses BE, C, CE, Truck/Overhead crane, BE, A
- Good knowledge of English

The position is a civilian post, and wartime placement occurs at the workplace. The work entails requirements for travel and duty, both domestic and international.
As we continuously receive new equipment to handle, we see that you are active and take the opportunities we provide in the form of competence development in the areas that our operations require and have a need for.
Training for the position is primarily conducted by the Swedish Armed Forces Technical School in Halmstad, but can also be performed by other training providers both locally or elsewhere. You therefore need to be prepared for travel to occur during employment.
