Markverkstad Skaraborg is a department within the Ground Workshops Unit (MvE) and belongs to the Army Staff, performing maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' ground equipment, air base equipment, and delivering technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of supervision, repairs, manufacturing, dismantling/scraping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation, and equipment inspection.

MvE Skaraborg consists of approximately 120 employees and operates in Karlsborg and Såtenäs. This position is located in Karlsborg, and you will join the vehicle section together with 30 other colleagues, divided between heavy and light vehicles.

Main Responsibilities

As a mechanic, you will primarily work with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of various types of heavy vehicles and their systems used within the Swedish Armed Forces, such as trucks, patrol vehicles, off-road vehicles, construction machinery, and air base equipment, as well as various other tasks on the Armed Forces' equipment and systems. The work involves both preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as modifications based on established specifications.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• You have at least a two- or three-year upper secondary education in vehicle technology, vehicle focus, or other education/competence equivalent through professional experience as assessed by the employer.
• Experience from workshop-related work, preferably as a mechanic, or alternative experience assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Category B driver's license.
• General computer skills.

MERITORIOUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with Swedish Armed Forces' equipment and vehicles.
• Hydraulic knowledge.
• Experience working with vehicle diagnostic systems and vehicle electronics.
• AC certification class 5 or class 1.
• CE/DE driver's license.

Other Information

Employment type: Permanent position starting with a 6-month probationary period.

Full-time, day hours.

Work location: Karlsborg.

Start date: As soon as possible after agreement.

The work also entails requirements for travel and duty, both domestic and international. The position is a civilian post. Since work with hardening plastics occurs at the ground workshop, it is important that you are not allergic to hardening plastics.
