– A job with room for growth

A job for you who wants to protect and develop the work with our most important food source; water! Are you driven by sustainable growth work where collaboration and a holistic view are central? Do you want to contribute to the municipality's good management of water, wastewater, and stormwater? Then this job might be for you!

Welcome to us!

Krokoms Municipality is growing in terms of both residents and businesses. The growth ambitions are high. The goal is to reach 19,300 residents by 2035, and we want to get there in a sustainable way, both environmentally, socially, and economically.

Within the municipality, there are about 20 waterworks and approximately the same number of wastewater treatment plants. The pipe network consists of over 360 km of drinking water pipes, over 250 km of wastewater pipes, and approx. 100 km of stormwater pipes that need to be managed and maintained while we develop new areas for housing and business where new pipes are laid.

As an Investigating Engineer within the Water and Environment Department, you are responsible for driving projects or assignments from A to Z that contribute to achieving the goals decided by our politicians. You are part of a working group with water engineers, case handlers, and a technical assistant, and although everyone has their own areas of responsibility, you contribute together with your competence and experience to reach the goals.

The Municipal Administration supports three committees: the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environment Committee, and the Community Planning Committee. The administration employs approx. 135 staff and is divided into the central office area, the building and environment area, and the community planning and growth area, where the Water and Environment Department is included.

A day as an Investigating Engineer in the Water and Environment Department

You will have the main responsibility for the strategic work with drinking water pipes, wastewater pipes, pressure boosting stations, and pump stations. The role also includes preparing industrial agreements, monitoring and coordinating comments on detailed plans, building permits, and environmental notifications. You will also plan, prioritize, and coordinate renewal, measures, maintenance, investments, projects, and quality within the pipe network area.

The tasks may change over time based on the needs of the operations and ongoing projects.

A great advantage of working in a municipality of Krokoms size is that it is close to other operations. You will have operational cooperation with colleagues within other departments.

You enjoy coordinating many actors and have a strong commitment to community planning, sustainable development, and public benefit.

Your Competence

You have an academic education in road and water, environment, community planning, or equivalent education that we assess as relevant for the job. You may also be interesting to us if you lack an academic degree but have acquired competence and experience through working life that we assess as equivalent.

You have several years of experience working as an investigator/project manager, preferably within water and environment (VA). You are thus an experienced investigator/project manager who feels comfortable taking on different roles in a project.

We would like you to be accustomed to working with digital tools such as VA-banken, mapping programs, AutoCad/Civil 3D, or GIS/Geosecma.

You express yourself easily in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have the ability to describe technically complex issues in a clear way that creates conditions for our politicians to understand and make strategic decisions. It is positive if you have experience working in a politically governed organization.

We see that you are a confident and self-initiating team player who gladly takes initiative for development and improvement and contributes to a good climate in the working group. You value and maintain good relationships both internally and externally, and you are constructive in problem-solving to achieve a good whole.

Travel within and outside the municipality is included in the position, and a Category B driver's license is required.

Other Information

Permanent full-time employment with start date as agreed.

We offer a wellness hour or wellness allowance as well as a benefits portal.

In connection with the recruitment process, we have taken a stance on recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore decline contact with salespeople.

Union representatives can be reached through the municipality's customer center, 0640-161 00.

Greeting from your future manager

As the Water and Environment Manager, I look forward to welcoming a new Investigating Engineer into our wonderful team in the Water and Environment Department. We currently have three additional engineers, three case handlers, a technical assistant, and an operations manager in the group. They will be your closest colleagues. We have many exciting projects ahead, and with our combined competence and experience, we see the various challenges of the projects as developmental and, above all, important for the municipality's growth.

If it is you who steps into our team, I am convinced that you will enjoy it greatly.

Christian Thorgerzon, Operations Manager

Krokom, the municipality in the middle of Jämtland

Krokoms Municipality's borders stretch from the shores of Lake Storsjön in the south, to the vast and wild mountains in the north, and in the east, the large forests of the northern inland take over. Here live approx. 15,700 residents, in the middle of Jämtland County, with proximity to good communications to the rest of Sweden. Here there are fantastic opportunities for a rich cultural and outdoor life. People move here and want to stay, because here life itself takes place.

The municipality is part of a Sami administrative area, which means we work to strengthen the Sami language, make the culture visible, and give the Sami people influence.

Welcome with your application!
