NCC holds a strong market position with many interesting projects underway. As a Bid Engineer, you play a key role in securing new, interesting projects. Your task is to calculate costs and ensure the project has the right conditions to deliver high quality and good profitability. The Role of Bid Engineer As a Bid Engineer, you are responsible for cost calculations for our projects – from tender documents to the final bid. Together with a team consisting of managers and specialists, you develop innovative solutions. Once the project is won, you participate in kick-offs and follow-ups, as well as handling project changes. Great emphasis is placed on knowledge and experience sharing, as well as challenging traditional working methods. A large part of the projects is carried out in close collaboration with the client, where you become an important part of the team working on the bidding process, budget calculations, and planning during the planning phase. Occasionally, you may also act as support for the project during the production phase. The role includes everything from quantity take-offs and detailed calculations to rough estimates in budget calculations. Depending on the size and complexity of the projects, as well as your experience, you will be responsible for one or more bids simultaneously. In some cases, you may also function as a Bid Manager, leading the bid team until the bid is submitted. You will report to our Specialist Manager, who is also the Group Manager for our nine Bid Engineers located in various cities from Karlstad in the south to Luleå in the north. A large part of the group's communication takes place via digital weekly meetings, where you share experiences and provide support when needed. About Division Civil North Division Civil North has approximately 500 employees and operates within earthworks and construction, covering everything from design and construction to production. We are divided into several production groups operating in Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland, Västernorrland, and Värmland. Your Profile as Bid Engineer You have a civil engineering education and a few years of experience working with earthworks and construction projects in a role as either a Bid, Project, or Contract Engineer, or alternatively as a Site Manager or Foreman. If you have experience with other types of construction work such as steel, concrete, and industrial projects, in addition to earthworks, it is an advantage. You have worked with various calculation, planning, and cost control programs such as MAP, Power Project, MS Project, Office, etc., and have good knowledge of contract law such as AMA Construction, MER, AB04, and ABT06. You can see the big picture without losing the details, are analytical, meticulous, and understand the importance of delivering to set deadlines. You have a strong drive to find good and cost-effective solutions, thrive both working independently and in a team, and are not afraid to ask for help when needed. A large part of your work will take place in meetings with both clients and colleagues, which you are comfortable with. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing. Additional Information The position is a permanent employment. The location is Östersund. A driver's license is required as there is some travel involved.
