At Östersund Municipality, we are currently looking for a substitute to fill the position of Quality Engineer for the Pipeline Network within the Waste and Water & Wastewater sector, where the permanent employee is on parental leave.

Duration of the temporary position: 1 August 2026 – 1 February 2027.

Your Role

We are seeking a colleague to join the Quality Engineer team at the Pipeline Network unit (drinking water and wastewater). You will work alongside another quality engineer and be part of a larger team of quality engineers within the sector, allowing for strong collaboration and support in your work. The role involves extensive contact with internal stakeholders within the municipality, external authorities, and customers. As the Quality Engineer for the Pipeline Network, you play a central role in ensuring high quality in our water and wastewater services.

Key Responsibilities

• You are responsible for:
• Communication with authorities, for example during inspection visits.
• Monitoring control programs and ensuring that necessary reporting is produced and submitted on time.
• Conducting investigations related to quality deviations, upstream work, and complaints, as well as handling official consultations (remisses).
• You will support the operational staff with:
• Sampling and handling of disruptions.
• Planning, developing routines, and project work to monitor and develop quality issues.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a university degree in microbiology and/or chemistry, or equivalent competence. Experience in quality work within water and wastewater, food, or regulated operations is meritorious.

You are solution-oriented, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. As a person, you are meticulous, structured, and proactive. You have the ability to synthesize complex information, drive tasks to completion, and possess analytical skills to collect, analyze, and compile data.

Since the role involves many internal and external contacts, it is important that you enjoy building relationships and collaborating effectively with others.

A Category B driver's license is required for this position.

The position is partly security-classified. This means that a security clearance and background check may be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585) prior to employment.
