Your Role

On our Mechanical Installation Design section, we are responsible for the mechanical integration of systems in our flying products, Gripen and T-7. We offer you a fun and inspiring job as a Designer, with many different and varied tasks.

You will be part of a design team within the Structural and Systems Installation Design area. This team consists of eight sections with a total of approximately 130 employees covering hull construction and all system installation within mechanics, electrical, and electrical schematics. Since the systems are located throughout the aircraft, we collaborate closely with other areas, giving us broad product knowledge and a strong network within the organization. We also collaborate with other business areas within the group.

This position is linked to the T-7 project, a new advanced pilot training system/aircraft in collaboration with Boeing, where we now need to expand our team. Travel may occur in this position.

As a Designer, your main responsibilities will be:

• Design of mechanical parts in CATIA V5, from concept to finished product.
• Support for production and our customers with operational aircraft.
• Handling production deviations (non-conformance).
• Studies for the introduction of new functionality.
• Improvement work, part of our daily work to make us more efficient.
• Close collaboration within System Installation Design and with adjacent areas such as Hull Construction, Structural Analysis, Industrialization, and Production.

To succeed in the role, you have:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant University or Civil Engineering education, or equivalent work experience in design or other relevant technical areas.
• Experience with CAD, preferably within CATIA V5.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Advantageous if you have:

• Experience in mechanical construction, hull construction, or adjacent areas.
• Interest in eventually stepping into a technically leading role.
• Background or interest in aviation.

The position requires that you undergo and pass the security clearance procedures according to current regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
