Your future with us

For nearly 30 years, we have worked with product and system solutions that truly make a difference to the world around us. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be employed as a consultant at Avalon and work on assignments for one of our customers. With the help of your broad experience with different materials, you will develop smart solutions ranging from marine technology to water supply solutions, process industry, and home components. You work from needs analysis and idea generation in CAD in harmony with the workshop and project participants in other competence areas and clients to reach the project goal together. You have an eye for quality, material selection, manufacturability, and sustainable results while keeping Avalon's motto - innovation, knowledge, and humble entrepreneurship - close to your heart!

In the Blekinge region, you are part of building the team together with your Team Leader, Business Manager, and all colleagues working with mechanics, product, and system development. The team has a wonderful mix of energetic team spirit and professional expertise. Avalon's headquarters is located in beautiful premises right by the pier in Karlshamn, and in Karlskrona, you will find a smaller office that started thanks to exciting assignments in the area. We learn from each other and above all, we make sure to have fun together. It can be anything from an extra coffee break on a Wednesday to an inspiring study visit and an after-work party. Do we match?

We are looking for more than just the experiences in your CV - we want to meet our next colleague. Similarly, we believe you are looking for more than just new tasks. You want to go to a place where you can be yourself and have an interesting career development. We are looking for you who:

• Are self-motivated, humble, and adaptable.
• Have good communication skills in Swedish and English.
• Have a technical post-secondary education at university level, or alternatively a University College degree (YH) combined with relevant work experience.
• Have at least 3 years of experience in mechanical design in a role where you have developed products from concept to final documentation.
• Have experience working with two different main materials (e.g., both injection-molded plastic and welded steel structures) and within different sectors (e.g., Automotive and Energy).
• Have good technical drawing understanding and are confident in ISO standards.
• Have experience in manufacturing industry and an understanding of how to create manufacturing-adapted documentation.
• Have experience with 2 of the systems Solidworks, Inventor, CREO, Catia, Windchill, E3D, Aveva.
• Have a B driver's license and access to a car.

Meritorious qualifications:

• Strength and Simulation: Ability to perform simple FEA/FEM analyses to verify your own design.
• Knowledge of project methodology or experience in driving smaller sub-projects independently.
• Sustainability focus and knowledge of how material selection affects the product's life cycle analysis (LCA) and environmental impact.
• Previous experience working as a consultant.
