Within the Child and Education Administration, our approximately 3,000 employees interact with around 14,000 children and students at more than 100 preschools and schools throughout the municipality every day. Every child and student in Sundsvall Municipality's preschools and schools should be able to develop, learn, and reach their goals according to their own prerequisites. Every student should leave school with the desire, knowledge, and good conditions to meet adult life and the future.

Your new workplace

The Child and Education Administration is looking for a Spanish teacher for grades 6-9 combined with Social Studies (SO) at Sundsvall Montessori School. Sundsvall Montessori School is located in the beautiful natural area of Sidsjö, close to both the lake and a beautiful forest environment. The school is a preschool to grade 9 school with 240 students.

To stimulate our students' development and learning, we work according to Montessori pedagogy and its didactic methods. The pedagogy follows the child through the entire school time, from the toddler section in the preschool up to and including grade 9. We put the student at the center and strive to give every student the best possible conditions to develop their full potential. The pedagogical work takes place in both mixed-age and age-homogeneous groups.

In Montessori pedagogy, curiosity and interest are seen as the foundation for lifelong learning. At our school, through this philosophy, we create conditions for our students to grow, feel the joy of learning, and understand the role they play in their own and others' lives. As a student here, you train collaboration and taking personal responsibility early on – skills that are valuable for further studies and in working life. We place education in a larger context.

How you contribute in the role of secondary school teacher

As a Spanish teacher for grades 6-9 at Sundsvall Montessori School, you have good knowledge within your subject and an interest in developing your working methods. You value the relationship with students and guardians and have a positive attitude towards them, where relationship-building is something you consider important. You enjoy collaborating across subject boundaries and like to develop the operations based on the curriculum.

You participate in the work team's activities, including theme planning and quality work with Montessori pedagogy as a foundation. You have a holistic view of the students and the ability to create safety and well-being in the group, and you base your planning and implementation of teaching on the student's individual needs to give every student the best possible learning situation. Mentorship is included in the position.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who are a qualified secondary school teacher in Spanish combined with Social Studies (SO). It is meritorious if you have Montessori training or knowledge of Montessori pedagogy, but it is not a requirement.

Salary: Monthly/hourly salary. Individual and differentiated salary setting is applied.

Conditions: Salary payments beyond the monthly salary follow the applicable collective agreement. Central collective agreements can be found on the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions website, www.skr.se
