Within the Child and Education Administration, our approximately 3,000 employees interact with around 14,000 children and students at more than 100 preschools and schools throughout the municipality every day. Every child and student in Sundsvall Municipality's preschools and schools should be able to develop, learn, and achieve their goals based on their own prerequisites. Every student should leave school with the desire, knowledge, and good conditions to meet adult life and the future.

Your new workplace

We are now recruiting for two positions located in the following areas:

  • The Principal's area of Kovland, Indal, Liden, and Holm preschools, which includes Anundgård Preschool, Liden Preschool, Indal Preschool, and Vallens Preschool.
  • The Principal's area of Sidsjö and Nacksta preschools, which includes Klingsta Preschool, Sidsjö Preschool, Sundsvall Montessori Preschool, Skogsparken Preschool, Kulans Preschool, Vreten Preschool, Rågens Preschool, and Nacksta Preschool.

How you contribute in the role:

As a Special Needs Pedagogue (Specialpedagog), you will be part of a leadership team together with the principal and deputy principals, where you contribute a special educational perspective to the leadership group and collaborate with other special pedagogues in the organization.

Your tasks will include:

  • Providing operationally close support to educators and principals regarding children in need of special support at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
  • Conducting operational visits, training, supervision, and consultation directly within the operations.
  • Collaborating with internal and external contacts.
  • Parental collaboration.
  • Assisting and supporting the preschool in matters regarding pedagogical assessments prior to admission to adapted primary school.

It is important that you have a strong commitment to the work of the preschool and wish to contribute to developing our work to create a safe, fun, educational, and equitable preschool. You work in a promoting and preventive manner, and you follow up on and evaluate measures together with relevant parties. You conduct continuous supervision and consultations. Furthermore, you are well grounded in current policy documents, and your work rests on a scientific basis.

Your skills and experience

  • We are looking for you who are trained as a Special Needs Pedagogue and have good knowledge of the preschool's mission and policy documents.
  • You have good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as proficiency in using Google Drive, the Office package, and digital tools for remote meetings.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B).

We consider it meritorious if you have experience working as a special needs pedagogue or preschool teacher in a preschool setting. We also view experience working in socio-economically disadvantaged areas positively.

To succeed in the role, you need to be adaptable to changing circumstances. We are looking for you who have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and the different prerequisites people have. You are good at building relationships while being sensitive, communicative, and a good listener. The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively comes naturally to you.
