Job Description

Within the Environment business area, AFRY offers qualified consulting services within environment and sustainability. The demand for specialist competence in environmental permitting for industrial operations is very high, and we are therefore looking for you who want to help further develop our offering in this area.

As an experienced environmental consultant at AFRY, you will primarily work on projects related to industrial operations – for example, permitting processes, environmental assessments, periodic inspections, and strategic advice in early stages. The assignments may also cover the energy and infrastructure sectors, such as wind and solar power, water operations, as well as road and railway projects.

The role involves great variation and independent responsibility, where you both drive your own assignments and collaborate in larger project teams. You have close dialogue with customers and authorities and are given the opportunity to take a leading role in projects. For those who wish, there are also opportunities to contribute to business development and the development of our service offering, particularly within industrial environmental permitting.

AFRY has a large and well-cohesive group of environmental consultants who collaborate across the country. Through this collaboration, we ensure high quality in our assignments and create good conditions for knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and continued development within the field.

Qualifications

To succeed and thrive in your role as an environmental consultant, we are looking for you who have:

• a university or civil engineering degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainable development, or similar,
• at least three years of professional experience in the environmental field,
• good knowledge of permitting processes and environmental impact assessments,
• very good ability to present investigations and results both in writing and orally,
• an analytical and strategic mindset with a good ability to see opportunities and solutions that add value to our customers,
• good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing,
• Class B driver's license

It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have some years of experience in:

• working as a project manager or assignment leader,
• working as an environmental consultant, environmental manager at a company, or at an authority,
• working with customers and other stakeholders to discuss and present assignments and provide recommendations.
