Main Responsibilities

As a Chemical Officer, you process and coordinate chemical management for P4. You will also work with other issues within occupational health and safety, with the main focus on chemical management.

You are responsible for the army's chemical management system for the unit, as well as leading and coordinating P4's chemical management. You support commanders, chemical officers, and other functions in chemical management work, for example with risk assessments, and manage and develop the chemical management system. You coordinate and, together with other experts in the field, conduct training in chemical management (e.g., commanders' occupational health and safety responsibilities in the area, use of the chemical management system, etc.). You are responsible for establishing and supporting the development of routines and governing documents in the chemical area at P4. Additionally, you participate in other tasks within the HR function as a case handler. You are also part of the operational security function, where you, together with others, support and steer the operations.

• Driver's license, at least class B for manual transmission
• Experience from chemical management

As a Chemical Officer and case handler within occupational health and safety, it is important that you find it easy to collaborate with others and are service-oriented. You should thrive in a coordinating role. To perform your tasks well, you must also be structured, self-initiating, and proactive. You should be able to guide the commander in their decision-making with well-balanced summaries. The role involves office work but also participation in and support of unit exercises, which may take place in the evenings and on weekends.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Merits

• Completed national service or basic military training
• Military work permit
• Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' governing documents
• Knowledge of Swedish Armed Forces chemical management
• Training in flammable goods and/or environmental legislation related to chemicals
• Experience working in Swedish Armed Forces support systems such as Microsoft Office, VIDAR, and PRIO
• Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety or in another area that the employer considers equivalent

The position is located at the HR department in Skövde.

The employment is a civil fixed-term appointment on a full-time basis, until May 2027, with immediate start or as agreed.

P 4 has operations from Älvdalen in the north to Remmene in the south. The leadership is based in Skövde, where the majority of conscript training takes place. The regiment's task is to recruit and train conscripts and personnel for two armored battalions, a heavy transport company, and a brigade reconnaissance company. P 4 is also responsible for a brigade staff that, in times of crisis and war, should lead large parts of the army's units.
