About the role

Do you want a job where you can combine technology, creativity, and project management – while being a key player in the future of sustainable pulp production? We are now looking for a designer/engineer for our team at Södra Cell in Mönsterås, with an interest in developing within instrumentation technology.

Here you will have a role with great freedom and responsibility, where you play a key part in the collaboration between mechanics, process, and automation. You will have the opportunity to drive and participate in projects, while also helping to develop smart process solutions in one of the world's most modern pulp mills.

What you will work on at Södra

As a designer/engineer with us, you will have a varied daily routine. One day you lead a project within instrumentation, the next day you work on creating drawings, calculations, and documentation. You will have your own projects and serve as a sub-project manager in larger investments, collaborating with both internal and external resources from several technical areas.

The role is creative and solution-oriented – you will be involved from idea and design, planning and budgeting, to the finished solution in operation. You will be close to production and, together with colleagues in process, mechanics, and automation, develop new technical solutions and improve existing ones.

Your main responsibilities

  • Drive and be responsible for design and engineering assignments, primarily within instrumentation

  • Lead and participate in projects of various sizes – from idea to finished solution

  • Coordinate and harmonize between different technical areas (mechanics, process, automation)

  • Ensure documentation and handover to production and maintenance

  • Contribute to the development of process solutions, working environment, and safety work

The position is a permanent full-time day shift role, located at Södra Cell in Mönsterås.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are a university engineer specializing in process, electrical, or automation, and who has experience working in a CAD environment. Experience from the process industry or other industrial sectors is also valued.

You are a person who enjoys building and maintaining a broad network and likes to collaborate with different professional groups. Furthermore, you are skilled at planning and executing your tasks with good structure when using various digital tools. You enjoy problem-solving, are adaptable, and can easily adjust and prioritize among your tasks.

A valid driver's license (Category B) and proficiency in Swedish and English are required for the position.

Join us in building a sustainable society

Södra is one of the country's largest forest industry companies, jointly owned by more than 50,000 family-owned forest holdings in southern Sweden. In addition to developing forestry, we strive to always use the forest raw material in the most effective and climate-smart way. Paper pulp, wood products, textile pulp, and bio-products are just a few examples. By working together, we have the strength, commitment, and courage required to build a sustainable society. This is done with our feet on the ground, our ear to the outside world, and our gaze forward.
