The Municipal Executive Office is the administration for the Municipal Board and the Municipal Council.

We work with a holistic perspective, close to the political leadership, with the goal of providing the best possible support and service to Kalmar Municipality's political organization, companies, departments, and the general public. The Municipal Executive Office consists of approximately 300 employees across 14 different units. The office operates within a broad spectrum of areas and has several positions with specialized competencies. The position is located within the Municipal Executive Office's Urban Development unit, which consists of the Land and Development, Strategy and Sustainability, and Growth and Business units.

As a Development Engineer, you will become part of the Land and Development unit and a team of fourteen employees. The team works with development issues, mass handling, and contaminated land.

Job Description

As a Development Engineer, you work with the municipality's strategic development regarding land and planning. You follow projects through the entire process from early stages to implementation and follow-up. You play a central role in coordinating, driving, and developing development projects in close collaboration with colleagues, politicians, and external actors.

Your main responsibilities:

• Lead development projects with a focus on economy, law, and technology
• Prepare development calculations and schedules
• Conduct land allocation procedures
• Draft and negotiate agreements (e.g., purchase contracts and development agreements)
• Act as the client in detailed planning processes
• Procure consultants
• Apply for cadastral surveys
• Commission the implementation of infrastructure and park projects
• Prepare decision-making materials and present cases in political forums

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A university degree in civil engineering, surveying, real estate law, or equivalent
• Experience in negotiating and working with contracts
• Experience in similar work is meritorious

You have the ability to take responsibility for driving your work forward and thrive in a role where you switch between individual responsibility and collaboration. In contact with colleagues, citizens, politics, and other stakeholders, you communicate clearly and professionally, and you have an easy time creating and developing sustainable relationships, both internally and externally. To succeed in the role, you express yourself very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Salary: Monthly salary.
