Are you a passionate Android developer eager to shape the future of equine health? Join Sleip and use your expertise to build a brand-new Android application that delivers innovative solutions for veterinary professionals and horse owners worldwide.

About Sleip

Sleip is a fast-growing, venture-backed startup reshaping the equine health industry with cutting-edge AI and mobile technology. We’re on a mission to deliver objective, data-driven gait analysis that transforms how equine health is managed. Headquartered in Stockholm, our innovative app has already empowered over 900 veterinary professionals worldwide, and we’re just getting started. Our leadership team – including visionary founders with deep expertise in both technology and veterinary science, and a recently appointed CEO from AniCura – is committed to creating impact through relentless innovation and collaboration.

The Role

We are looking for a Lead Android Developer to take technical ownership of building Sleip’s Android application. In this role, you will design and implement a modern Android app from the ground up, define the technical architecture, and ensure a robust, scalable and user-friendly product that complements our existing iOS offering. You will work hands-on with development, collaborate closely with product, design and ML specialists, and play a key role in turning complex gait analysis technology into an intuitive experience for users. You will hold technical ownership for the Android domain and act as the lead for a consultant team to ensure high-quality delivery and alignment with Sleip’s long-term product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

As Lead Android Developer, you will play a central role in shaping our Android product and mobile strategy. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing a new Android application that brings Sleip’s gait analysis capabilities to Android users.
  • Defining and owning the Android app architecture, code quality standards, and technical direction.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Taking ownership of app performance, security, and scalability.
  • Mentoring colleagues and supporting team development.
  • Continuously improving the app through experimentation, feedback, and data-driven decisions.

Who You Are

We are seeking someone who combines deep technical expertise with a pragmatic, collaborative mindset. You should have:

  • At least 7 years of Android development experience, with a record of leading or owning complex Android projects.
  • Proficient in Kotlin, with a strong understanding of Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Google best practice Android architecture (MVVM, UDD, Clean Architecture, Modularization).
  • Deep understanding and expertise in Jetpack Libraries, Firebase, Material Design, and the latest Android SDKs.
  • Experience with DI such as Dagger/Hilt.
  • Experienced with Unit, E2E, Snapshot, and integration testing (JUnit, Compose tests, Espresso, Robolectric, Roborazzi/Paparazzi, and such).
  • A product-oriented approach and the ability to translate user and business needs into clean technical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to mentor other colleagues.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and motivated by real-world impact.
  • Experience with on-device ML, TensorFlow Lite, Camera/media processing (4K 60FPS), or similar technologies is a plus.

Why Join Us?

At Sleip, you’re not just coding an app—you’re shaping the future of equine health. You’ll work in an energetic, mission-driven team where your contributions directly impact how veterinary professionals care for horses worldwide. With strong backing from leading investors and strategic partners like Boehringer Ingelheim, our rapid growth trajectory means unparalleled opportunities to innovate, lead, and grow in your career.

Location: Stockholm, Sweden (Onsite)
