Do you want meaningful work and to contribute to a safer Sweden in an uncertain world?

The Military Intelligence and Security Service (Must) operates within military intelligence and military security services. Do you want to be part of developing this activity?

We are now looking for an experienced Section Chief who wants to lead a team within the IT Department that handles IT infrastructure and network solutions. Together with us in the department, you will contribute to efficient information management, both short-term and long-term.

Main Responsibilities

We offer meaningful work where you daily contribute to increased security for Sweden, the total defense, and the Swedish Armed Forces. Through continuous competence development, you get good opportunities to develop yourself and your knowledge. We can, for example, offer you opportunities for training and certifications.

You will be the Section Chief with personnel responsibility. The section develops and manages IT services within networks and infrastructure with high security requirements. Must is largely a knowledge-based organization that relies on its employees. As Section Chief at Must, you are responsible for ensuring that your employees have good competence, autonomy, and freedom in their work. You are naturally a role model for both employees and other managers.

The duties include leadership, developing personnel competence, routines, and working methods, as well as production and delivery planning. Close collaboration occurs continuously with the department's other managers and functions, and you report to the Department Manager. The work is partly both administrative and operational, with great emphasis on employees' abilities and conditions. You will lead the section's continued development towards short and long-term goals.

The work is varied, and to succeed in your role, you work together with experienced colleague managers. The duties also include participating in and providing support to the department and the office's other activities. On-call duty and travel may occur.

Who are you?

Our employees have different backgrounds but share a common interest and knowledge in network technology. You are structured, curious, driven, and appreciate taking on challenges, communicating, and implementing plans both independently and in collaboration with others. It is also important to be flexible to handle changed conditions. You are proactive, solution-oriented, unpretentious, have great integrity, and are naturally security-conscious.

Qualifications

  • Current experience of IT infrastructure with a focus on networks.
  • Management experience with personnel responsibility for at least 5 years.
  • Relevant academic or post-secondary education with a focus on networks, data communication, computer science, or equivalent knowledge assessed as equivalent by the employer.
  • Experience of process-oriented working methods.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Category B driver's license.

Merits

  • Experience in resource planning and production management.
  • Experience leading complex teams.
  • Documented experience in technical project management.
  • Understanding of the function and configuration of routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Experience in information/IT security.
