RESPONSIBILITIES

About the Assignment

The Swedish education system is facing extensive changes with several major reforms to be implemented at a high pace, while the school administration is also facing demographic changes. To ensure that the implementation of national reforms takes place with foresight and is integrated into our existing processes, we are now looking for a driven Project Manager for the implementation of school reforms.

The assignment is a project position placed under the Business Manager for Primary School, with the School Administration's Management Group as the steering group.

The assignment includes leading the reform work regarding, among other things, the ten-year comprehensive school, new curricula, new grading system, safety and study environment, improved support in schools, time for teaching assignments, principal in focus, and the professional program.

Your main areas of responsibility include:

  • As Project Manager, you will plan, lead, and coordinate the work of implementing upcoming school reforms.
  • Develop and be responsible for clear project plans with identifiable sub-projects and decision points.
  • Identify how the reforms affect current organization, economy, and governance, through an iterative working method where analysis, implementation, and follow-up occur continuously.
  • You will also seek support and collaborate with actors such as SKR, the Swedish National Agency for Education, and the Municipal Association GR.
  • You serve as a central point for information and dialogue with principals, union representatives, and other key stakeholders.
  • You produce decision materials and service reports, and process-lead these from dialogue to final decision.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role, we are looking for you with the following background and competence:

  • You are a trained teacher and have documented experience in project management. It is an advantage if you have education and experience as a principal, in process leadership, and have driven development work within schools.
  • You have knowledge of preparatory work and propositions regarding the upcoming reforms, so that you can function as a competence support to fulfill the legislator's intentions.
  • You, the applicant, have high digital competence, work regularly with generative AI, and use various presentation tools to visualize your presentations.
  • You have the ability to navigate between different stakeholders and decision-makers in a politically governed organization.

We place great importance on personal qualities. You are a transparent and inclusive process leader who creates participation in early stages to get the whole organization on board with the change journey. You are self-reliant, proactive, and have good analytical ability to identify overlaps between different processes and avoid parallel work. Furthermore, you have very good communication skills and enjoy presenting materials to management groups and collaborating at different levels.
