Description
The Orthopedics Department provides planned and emergency care for patients with injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. We perform both planned and emergency surgeries. The department provides inpatient and outpatient care at Skaraborg Hospital in Skövde and Lidköping, while the majority of outpatient procedures are performed at Skaraborg Hospital in Falköping.
Currently, more than 20 medical secretaries work within the Orthopedics administration, located in Skövde and Lidköping. The collaboration between the units is well-functioning. We are constantly working on development and improvements, valuing the significant contribution of our employees who bring great knowledge and commitment. We are also reviewing task rotation across the entire hospital, where tasks change "providers." This also means that the duties of medical secretaries will change to some extent as healthcare is reorganized.
We need to cover upcoming parental leaves and are now seeking 1 Medical Secretary for our administrative unit to meet and maintain the development/tasks currently underway within the department. The temporary positions run from 2026-09-01 to 2027-08-31.
Responsibilities
As a Medical Secretary within the Orthopedics Department, you will have a varied and flexible role. We serve healthcare staff in both outpatient and inpatient care. You will work with documentation, reception duties, mail handling, quality registers, scheduling, referral management, 1177, SAMSA, telephone service, IT, etc. The work is independent and varied.
We strive to streamline our working methods and believe it is time to review our operations and adapt them to future healthcare administration and digitalization. In this change process, we are reviewing routines, dictation prints, scheduling, etc., to improve, simplify, and create a better working environment, as well as fostering closer collaboration with our doctors.
We are looking for you who want to help develop our operations towards the future. We want to create an attractive workplace with new ideas and influences!
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a university college (KY) or higher vocational education (YH) as a medical secretary or equivalent. Experience with an orthopedic focus is meritorious. However, newly graduated medical secretaries are equally welcome, as we also see great value in employees bringing new knowledge from the educational world. You must have good knowledge of the Swedish language and medical terminology. We would like you to be an experienced user of various IT tools, preferably the medical record systems Melior and Elvis. Training in DRG is a merit. As a person, you are meticulous, structured, flexible, stress-resistant, service-oriented, and have good collaboration skills.
