Värmdö is the meeting place of the archipelago, offering a unique combination of nature's quiet beauty and a more urban lifestyle. Our mission is not just one but many: schools, properties, social services, harbors, healthcare, libraries, elderly care, and many more. We work to ensure that all residents of Värmdö can live a rich and free life. We aim to be the ones who make the dream of a vibrant, secure environment for homes, families, and businesses possible.
To fully succeed in this, we need diverse competencies and must work together to build a common and trust-based work culture, built on courageous, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the inhabitants.
Our Operations
We are now looking for dedicated employees who want to be part of building a completely new home care organization in Gustavsberg.
On October 1, 2026, Värmdö Municipality will introduce choice within home care services. This means that Värmdö Home Care (operated in-house) faces an expansion phase with approximately 350 new home care recipients active throughout Värmdö. To meet these needs, we are now building a new organization based on working with time frames as a method, increased choice for home care recipients, and a strong local focus.
Here you will have the opportunity to work together with colleagues who also are passionate about quality, security for our elderly, and contributing to a modern, sustainable, and person-centered home care service.
Your Role
In the role of Assistant Nurse/Care Assistant within home care, you will work with something of the best and most rewarding there is – making everyday life meaningful for our elderly in Värmdö. Being professional is about as much about good treatment and understanding other people's needs and feelings as it is about working with care tasks and service. We place great emphasis on maintaining a professional attitude both towards our customers and within the work group.
Your Experience
We are looking for you who are trained as an Assistant Nurse with a protected professional title or are an experienced Care Assistant and have previous experience working in home care and/or elderly care. You must be able to speak and understand Swedish well and also express yourself well in writing, as communication is an important need for our elderly. You must be at least 18 years old. A valid Category B driver's license is meritorious and highly desirable.
Your Personal Qualities
- Self-motivated
- Flexible
- Service-oriented
- Quality-conscious
We place great importance on personal suitability.
Application Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, so apply today. For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment. Language testing may occur during this recruitment.
Värmdö Municipality offers a wellness subsidy, an SL card (public transport) against net salary deduction, and the option to exchange vacation days for extra days off. We also actively work to create health-promoting workplaces with a good working environment and apply smoke-free working hours.
We strive for an equal gender balance and see diversity as a strength, welcoming applicants from different backgrounds.
