Water and Wastewater Engineer at Enköping Municipality
Enköping Municipality is the workplace for you who want to contribute to creating a long-term good society. At the Technical and Service Administration, we are responsible for what makes Enköping function – from water and roads to public environments, properties, and services. We plan, build, develop, and manage with a clear focus on sustainability, quality, and the big picture.
The Water and Wastewater (VA) operations are responsible for one of society's most important functions – delivering clean drinking water and managing sewage and stormwater. We are approximately 50 employees who together develop and manage the infrastructure that makes daily life work. In the coming years, we face several major investments and initiatives to meet the needs of a growing Enköping.
Do you want a key role in developing future water and wastewater services while working closely with people, technology, and urban planning? Then this might be the job for you.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Water and Wastewater Engineer with a focus on connection and customer cases. The role combines technical investigations, customer dialogue, advisory services, and coordination. You will become a crucial link between property owners, developers, and the municipality's various operations, contributing to creating sustainable solutions for both today's and tomorrow's Enköping.
With us, you will have an independent and developing assignment with great opportunities to influence. We work actively with digitalization and continuous improvements, and we would be happy if you want to help develop both our working methods and the service we offer our customers.
Responsibilities
As a Water and Wastewater Engineer with us, you will have a broad and varied role where you work with everything from technical investigations and customer dialogues to development issues and smaller projects. You will become an important specialist in matters concerning water and wastewater connections and will have the opportunity to influence both processes and working methods.
You will among other things:
- Investigate technical, legal, and economic prerequisites for property water and wastewater connections
- Be responsible for connection cases and calculate infrastructure fees according to the current water and wastewater tariff
- Conduct field visits and quality assure installations
- Prepare documentation for customer agreements and other arrangements
- Produce decision documents, remiss responses, and documentation for project operations regarding new developments
- Review water and wastewater investigations and documents related to new connections
- Maintain ongoing dialogue with customers, clients, developers, and contractors
- Plan and lead smaller projects together with operational staff and contractors, and participate as a specialist in larger projects
- Contribute to the development of processes, digital tools, and working methods within the operations
- Handle consultations with property owners regarding the placement of connection points, as well as follow up and document cases
- Provide advice on connection issues, LTA systems, water meters, water and wastewater tariffs, ABVA, and the Water Services Act.
Qualifications and Merits
We are looking for you who want to combine technology, customer dialogue, and public benefit in a role with great variation and the opportunity to influence.
Your qualifications:
- Relevant technical university or college education.
- At least five years of experience working in water and wastewater or related areas.
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
- Category B driver's license (required).
Meritorious:
- Practical or technical experience in areas such as water meters, LTA units, service expansion, or sprinklers.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater legislation.
- Experience in project or process management, drawing review, and work in systems such as EDP Future, VA-banken, or GIS systems.
To thrive in the role, you need to be structured, responsible, and have the ability to plan and drive your tasks forward. You work independently but also appreciate collaborating with others and contributing to the development of the operations.
Since the role involves many contact surfaces, it is important that you are good at building good relationships and that you can make technical and rule-based questions understandable to different target groups. You communicate clearly and professionally and inspire trust through good judgment and a solution-oriented working approach.
We would be happy if you have an interest in operational development and digitalization and appreciate contributing ideas on how processes and working methods can be developed to create increased quality and service.
What We Offer
At the Technical and Service Administration in Enköping Municipality, we work to create a sustainable and well-functioning daily life both today and in the future. With responsibility for properties, public spaces, water and wastewater, meal services, and service functions, we are a key player in the municipality's development. With us, you have the opportunity to influence, collaborate, and contribute to reaching a more sustainable and attractive municipality.
