Your responsibilities

As a primary and lower secondary school teacher in Leksand Municipality, you work pedagogically and socially based on the organization's goals and guidelines as well as current regulatory documents. A major focus for Leksand Municipality's school activities now and in the future is the development of students' reading and writing skills, which is integrated with the current curriculum that you are familiar with. You are responsible for the pedagogical content of the teaching and work to promote students' learning and development. Joint planning takes place with colleagues within the same subject and grade.

You will work as a teacher in mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, and technology. The responsibilities include collaboration with colleagues as well as communication with students and guardians. Together with your colleagues, you will participate in projects aimed at developing teaching and increasing students' achievement of goals. A current focus area for us is to improve the merit value in mathematics. You will be part of both a mathematics subject group and a science subject group. The position also includes mentorship for a grade 7 class.

Your profile

• We are looking for you who are a certified primary and lower secondary school teacher for grades 7-9 with eligibility in mathematics and science
• Advantageous with experience in the teaching profession

As a person, you are flexible and accustomed to planning your work independently. You are solution-oriented and have a good ability to view situations from a holistic perspective.

You are also clear, confident, and creative, and have the ability to inspire our students. You enjoy collaborating in a team and share your experiences for collegial learning that contributes to development at the individual, group, and organizational levels. Together with your colleagues, you work to create a safe, structured, developmental, and stimulating learning environment for the students.

About the workplace

Sammilsdalskolan 7-9 is a lower secondary school with just over 460 students in six parallel classes. We use Google platforms with the students and Teams among the staff. We work according to a Language, Reading, and Writing Plan at all of the municipality's schools. This initiative is visible in all of the school's subjects, not just in Swedish.
