About Us

Region Blekinge is part of the national system for knowledge management, with the goal of contributing to good health that is evidence-based, safe, individualized, equitable, accessible, and efficient. One area within knowledge management is the national collaboration group for health data, whose mandate is to strategically steer and strengthen the joint regional work with health data.

The mandate of the Base Unit for Information Technology includes managing and developing the region's information systems and technical infrastructure based on overarching strategies, as well as delivering and developing business support and service functions.

We are now looking for a Technical System Administrator for the IT System Technology department, which belongs to the Base Unit for Information Technology. Other departments within this unit include IT System Administration Healthcare, IT Service, IT Infrastructure, IT Development, and Coordination. The IT System Technology department consists of 26 employees.

Region Blekinge's IT environment is modern and covers the entire region, with collaborations within Blekinge as well as with other regions.

Blekinge also offers a fantastic environment outside the office, with a beautiful archipelago.

About the Job

The position is a fixed-term assignment of 10 months due to parental leave, with the possibility of extension.

In the role of Software Developer, you will primarily work with:

  • New development and further development of systems and integrations.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving in existing solutions.
  • Dialogue with the business operations to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.

You will be part of a team where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a pragmatic approach to work are central. The focus in the role is on development – not traditional system administration.

About You

As a person, it is important that you have social skills, are easy to collaborate with, and have the ability to create and maintain good relationships. You are flexible, see the big picture, are proactive, and can work independently.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a university education in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Has a strong interest in software development and problem-solving.
  • Is analytical, structured, and solution-oriented.
  • Thrives in collaboration with both colleagues and business operations.
  • Takes initiative and drives your work forward.

We expect you to have experience with .NET (C#, Visual Studio) and SQL. Experience with Azure DevOps, cloud services (e.g., Azure), and API and integration work is a plus.

Our corporate language is Swedish, and you must be able to express yourself well in speech and writing. There may be contact with suppliers from abroad, so you should also have good knowledge of English.

The position is located in Karlskrona, but travel within the county may occur, so you must have a B driver's license.

As we are a department responsible for the operation of Region Blekinge's IT infrastructure, on-call duties may be included in the position.

For your information: Region Blekinge assigns all permanent staff to wartime duties. Some of our positions are security-classified, for which security checks with register control are conducted.

About Development and IT

Region Blekinge's organization is divided into six areas of responsibility, one of which is Development and IT. Here, resources are pooled within planning, digitalization, information technology, research, quality and development, public health, environment, and sustainability. The office of the Patient Council is also located within this area. The area manages and develops, among other things, the organization's work related to technical services, management systems, process-oriented working methods, and portfolio, architecture, technology, and information governance. Blekinge Competence Centre is also located here, responsible for Region Blekinge's medical library, learning center, R&D agreements, the scientific council, and other research activities.
