About the Department
The Underwater Weapons Department (UV-dept) maintains existing ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) systems in the Swedish Armed Forces. The Marine Workshop's UV-dept consists of approximately 30 employees and is part of the marine workshops with operations in central and southern Sweden. You will be part of a smaller group performing maintenance on existing ROV systems in Karlskrona.
Main Responsibilities
- Preventive and corrective maintenance on existing systems
- Troubleshooting of underwater vehicles and associated installations on ships
- Troubleshooting of electronic and electrical systems
- Cable and fiber optic work
- Installation work
- Documentation
- Maintenance of own equipment
- System support to units
- The position involves travel within Sweden
Requirements
Qualifications
- Swedish citizenship
- At least 4 years of equivalent maintenance experience
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot digital and analog electronic systems
- Category B driver's license
- Good technical understanding
- 3-year technical education with an electrical focus (electronics)

Merits
- Post-secondary education in electronics or equivalent
- Vehicle license BE and CE
- Experience with cable and fiber optic work
- Good computer and IT system proficiency
- Electrical license A/B
- Experience in troubleshooting

The overarching task of the Marine Base is to support the naval units with logistics such as transport, basing, guarding, and healthcare, both domestically and abroad. The Marine Base is headquartered in Karlskrona but operates where needed, for example in Berga/Muskö south of Stockholm and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Marine Base include monitoring Sweden's 2700 km long coastline and territorial waters.
