About the Unit
FMTIS has overall responsibility for the operation, maintenance and management of the Swedish Armed Forces' technical command support systems. The systems support military operations at sea, on land and in the air – in Sweden and abroad. The FMTIS System Unit, which operates in several locations in the country, among other things leads the management work for all equipment in the Swedish Armed Forces' fixed command system. This includes technical surveillance systems.
Main Tasks
The work involves managing the systems and products referred to within the Swedish Armed Forces as Technical Surveillance Systems. Technical surveillance is an overarching term for different types of surveillance systems. These can include, for example; intrusion alarms/integrated security systems, access control systems, video surveillance systems and IT systems.
Your main tasks:
- lead, plan and direct the system management of assigned technical systems
- plan, order and follow up preventive maintenance according to maintenance instructions or other control documents, as well as modification measures during the year
- conduct production follow-up meetings with the maintenance supplier
- act as technical support and requirement setter towards the operations organization
- serve as a contact point between different actors within the total defense
- review documentation, e.g. maintenance documents
- report the need for changes to the responsible technical system leader and materiel area manager
- draw up and update management and system value plans
- participate in projects aimed at strengthening or adding new capabilities to the area
You will work in a team together with colleagues towards set goals. As new technology is constantly introduced, you will be met with new interesting challenges, which is why you also welcome change as a natural part of your work. The Swedish Armed Forces are also growing strongly and the tasks may develop over time.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education with a technical focus or equivalent work experience assessed as equivalent by the employer
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Swedish citizenship
- Category B driver's license
Personal qualities
You possess technical understanding and basic technical competence to enable specialists with deep technical knowledge to use their skills in the right direction.
We are looking for someone who is curious, engaged and service-oriented, has an easy time connecting with people and has a good ability to express themselves in speech and writing. You are used to leading and engaging and have strong personal drive. You are a good team player while also taking initiative and personal responsibility. You possess good administrative skills. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
MERITORIOUS
- Experience working with various surveillance/alarm systems
- Experience in technical management of systems
- Experience with command support systems and their infrastructure within the Swedish Armed Forces
- Experience in project management
- Language skills in technical English
